]]>When metals, plastics or low-grade ceramics fail due to abrasion or chemical corrosion, high alumina ceramic can becomes the most cost effective wear material to use.
This material is available in a range of grades, shapes and thickness to cater for many applications.
Abrasive resistant grades of alumina tiles are suited for the lining of the following:-
As an alternative to bonding tiles directly to the equipment they can be bonded to wear plates that are bolted or welded into high wear zones. This provides the added benefit of very fast changes of wear plates during short shutdown windows.
The main advantage of an alumina ceramic tile is the long wearing capability is achieved because the wear surface becomes polished thereby reducing friction.
A further maintenance advantage of tiling if there is an area of highly worn tiles these can be easily removed and replaced with new tiles, reducing the cost of replacing the whole area. If required, thicker tiles may be installed in the high wear area at this time to assist longevity.

]]>AB Chem has a flexible acid resistant epoxy suitable for the external coating of process tanks subject to overflows and acidic environments.
Our product exhibits the following characteristics;
All these characteristics are important for process tanks, as well as the proven track record in a similar environments.
This durable coating is often used for protection of concrete surfaces subject to severe chemical attack and mechanical loadings (forklifts, cranes etc). However it also has the ability to be reformulated by AB Chem so that it can be applied by plural mix airless spray equipment – this allows the material to be applied rapidly with minimum cure time. Many traditional paint coatings are batch mixed and their cure time is limited by the practicalities of ‘pot life’.
Plural mix airless spray applied coatings minimises the overall job execution and cure times and thus the time before which the coating can be subject to service duty – a very important consideration during critical mine shutdown activities.
